Lo siento for not posting more but this is really the first brief bit of calmness in this storm ( my adventure abroad) in quite some time. Yesterday I arrived in Jerez and man is it gorgeos if Jerez was a women I would be all over that number. The streets are lined with Orange trees bering tons and tons of fruit, their orange reacts beautifuly with the stark whiteness of the houses.
I arrived in Jerez around 11:30 where I met my host mother Esperanza and my local cordinator Maria. Because of my early arrival Esperanza, Pajaro ( one of her sons), his girlfriend ( I forgot her name ) and I went to Cadiz. Man I wish I had remembered to bring my camera cause Cadiz is amazing. It was exactly a month before Festival so the streets were packed which made the atmosphere incredible energetic and every one was smiling. As we wandered the narrow streets filled to the brim with laughing people our group began to grow as more and more friends joined up. I must've tried atleast 14 new types of food the coolest being tiny shrimp like creature that you eat by the handful. Let me sum it up by saying if that was just a pre-party I can not wait till Festival.
As yesterday was a crazy party today was much more laid back. Around 11:30 I went to the school thinking that they would give a me a tour of some sorts. After talking to ( Esperanza talked I just said Si alot and nodded) we found out that I didn't have to go to school to tomorrow :). So i spent much of the day reading, napping, chatting and getting my room all set up. I had a cool idea yesterday of putting a map up on my wall of Jerez and putting markers on it of my favorite places so when other exchange students come they have a nice launching point for thier own adventures. As I am writing this i just got back from a brief drive through el Casico Historico ( the town center where all the old builing are), it looked amazing and I cant wait till tommarow when I will be able to explore it more in depth.
Well Im off to go make my self a sandwich of salami and pan ( bread- the bread here is really good). Im sure Ill have alot to wright about tomorrow night as it is my first day of School. thanks for hanging with me as I start to figure out this whole ploggin thing.
Adios y tiene una buen noche or for those in the states tiene un bien dia.
